Mark Montgomery - Director
Mark has been committed to humanitarian development work for most of his adult life – either as a volunteer or in a full-time capacity - in several East European countries such as Poland, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. He is committed to developing local leadership over “importing” expat talent. He argues that this is the only way to build sustainable enterprises
Mark is no stranger to Africa and indeed no stranger to Uganda. He has lived in Belgium for the past 32 years but is still “Proudly South African.” For the past 4 years, he has worked as Business Development Manager for Dwelling Places, based in Kampala. This has required frequent visits to Uganda to interact dynamically with the Dwelling Places team. Mark started FAMMI at the end of 2012. He still continues his collaboration with Dwelling Places.
Mark also works as a consultant and freelance worker in the IT world. His expertise is in the areas of Technical Writing, Business Analysis and Functional Analysis. He has worked for companies such as SWIFT, The National Bank of Belgium and The National Lottery in Belgium. Mark holds a MBA and is a Member of the Institute Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC), Member for the Chartered institute for IT (MBCS) and member of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection. He is also a Certified Expert in Microfinance (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management).
Linda Nabasa - Operations Manager
Linda holds a degree in Business Administration from Ndejje University, Kampala. She is a member of the Rotary Club in Rubaga, a suburb of Kampala. Linda received a certificate for participating in the Rotary Award for Youth Leadership in 2011 and a second certificate in Beverly Nambozo award for writing poetry, in 2012. Linda is an entertaining stage performer who uses her poetry to educate people about HIV/AIDS, poverty eradication, politics, cultural, women emancipation and violence against women and children.
As a result of her good stage presence and performance, she was selected as one of the members that represented Uganda in the Umoja International Cultural Camp that involved several countries such as Kenya, Tanzania (Zanzibar), Ethiopia and Norway. She has performed with Uganda National Contemporary Ballet (UNCB). She has also performed at the Uganda Sudan workshop and photo exhibition and Youth empowerment Forum Workshop.
Linda works with FAMMI as Business Development Manager. Consistent with this role, she oversees the sales team in their day to day operations. She is also currently the Sales Executive for the Chronically Ill sector.
Christine Nakato - Sales Executive
Christine is completing a degree in Business Administration at Ndejje University, Kampala. She also works with FAMMI as a Sales Executive. Her special focus is At Risk Communities.
Because of events in her early life, she is more than adequately equipped to serve Street Children and vulnerable slum families.
Joelle Montgomery - Communications Officer UK
Joelle graduated from the University of Liège, in Belgium, with a degree in Media and Communications. For most of her life she has been intrigued by words and how they are used to communicate ideas.
She is fluent in English, French and Spanish. She has travelled widely as a traveler as opposed to travelling as a tourist. Joelle has lived and worked in Spain, Ireland and in her native Belgium. She now lives with her husband in London. Joelle contributes to the development of FAMMI as Communications Officer on a part-time basis.
ica Kabareebe - Business Development Manager
Monica graduated from the Makerere University in Kampala. She holds a BA Tourism degree.
When she isnt working with FAMMI she enjoys social events, making friends, playing with her child and especially dancing.
Monica is responsible for the network of agents and distributors across Uganda. This very demanding role draws on the vast range of her many skills.
Kenneth Busuulwa - Production and Quality Manager
Kenneth graduated from the Ugandan Christian University with an MBA in Marketing. He also holds a BSc Food Processing Technology from Kyambogo University.
Kenneth is responsible for the production of our products. He conducts regulatory tests and analysis of the individual components as well as on the finished product. He is also responsible for submiting our products to the Ugandan National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) for certification. Kenneth is a keen football and music fan.
Milly Bayiyana - Marketing and Communications Manager
Milly graduated from the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) - in Kampala, Uganda, with a BA Entrepreneurship. Her professional career has seen her add value to exciting roles such as Service Center Manager at Africell, Sales and Reservation Manager at Fly540 and Marketing Manager at Norvik Hospital, Kampala.
Milly has a passion for dance and for music. She is addicted to learning, marketing and event management. She develops and drives the Marketing and Communications team for FAMMI.
