The FAMMI Buy Breakfast initiative gives you the opportunity to provide high-nutrition food to At Risk Communities in Uganda. It is not unusual for people in At Risk Communities to have only one meal a day.
This meal will be made up of whatever is available or what can be scrounged. It is not uncommon to see old and young ransack garbage bins to find some kind of food that has been thrown away. At this level, their priority is for survival and to stave off hunger. Nutrition is not high on the list.
The 1000 Day Imperative is adamant that nutrition is one of the key weapons in the fight to escape the poverty trap. As little as 100 gr of our NRX Xtra pre-cooked Corn Soy Blend porridge provides the Required Daily Allowance (RDA) vitamins, minerals and energy for a person over 6 months old to grow into good health. One kilogram of NRG Xtra provides the nutrition required by one person, for 10 days.
